Women into Elections

Happy women's day!!we are all aware of the progress made by women in these days, marking an important women's day for indian women with the government passing its women's reservation bill(108th constitution amendment bill) which will provide a 33% reservation for women in parliment and legistative assemblies.Being said to be a democratic country till now we dont have a 33% reservation for women in the country.BJP ,CPI and left will mend with the UPA in passage of bill.Sp leader mulayam singh and RJD chief lallu prasad were against it.mulayam singh who wants the bill to have a quota within a quota for giving oppurtunities to dalit,OBC and muslims womens.one must make sure of the fact that he is intoducing communalism by supporting muslims and against hindus in reservations.he is playing a dangerous role with a focus on minority votes.having only a vote of 26 MPs each of 22 From SP and 4 from RJD congress could have gone in favour of passage of the bill but instead a shame face appeared for the government and they dint have the strategy to control these oppsing members in the house.BJP and left would have been a silent observer for the happenings between congress and these two parties. The bill was sheduled to pass the next day.my view is that instead of havin a 33% reservation in the parliment it is better to have 33% reservation seats in each of the parties contesting for elections, which will have a better outcome having no parties to deny with their reservation seats for women.one should be aware that the loksabha elections are far away with the government having the time to structre the bill .HOpe the bill will be passed with the support from the entire parlimentary house will be a victory for congress, will be a great milestone in the politics.

  1. Mr.Narendran i totally disagree with u. Already India is suffering because of reservation quotas. No democratic country has separate quota for women. U say SP and RJD are playing communal politics i feel Congress is doing Gender politics which is actually bull shit! Let women contest and win. Indira Gandhi became PM when there was no reservation. If u feel Mrs.IG had a backup think of Mayawati(shes atleast an ex), and many women who are making a mark in politics. So lets all stand against this stupid reservation system and try to make India a happy place to live in!!!!!

  2. yea!caste, creed and sex reservation are making our country to defer in progress.u say women who are eligible can make a mark in politics without reservation i will agree with u!!think of sonia gandhi after rajiv's death in 1991 why dint she take up power to lead the congress.instead after 7 years from his death she set foot as a primary member and became the president.after some two decades this bill being passed why dont this bill elevates sonia to league of her own and garantees her a defining place for posterity.
